I announced a long time ago that I was pretty much hanging up my hat as far as taking on new web design projects for people that I am not familiar working with. I have had several inquiries since then wanting to know if I would be available to design some people’s websites or blogs. I would really love to take on new clients, I just feel that I need to develop my inter-personal skills a lot more to be able to have the patience it requires to do web design consultation because it can be difficult to understand and interpret what exactly a client is looking for if they cannot express it clearly. It’s not their fault of course, it’s just something that I have not been able to overcome and I end up getting very frustrated.

Having said that I know that there are a lot of people who would really like websites and I have to say I nearly jumped out of my pants last night when I was surfing around on twitter. I had actually taken a look at Holly Madison’s website which I thought was incredibly cute and girlie for her (not cutesy girlie, just pretty and girlie) and then I saw that she had the site designed by this new service that is being offered by this company called AllOwned.com. They have a service where you can join for just $15 a month. That $15 gets you a very generous web hosting package and self-publishing design capabilities to build your one site with no knowledge of HTML or any of the latest markup languages.

It’s a very easy and affordable way to get a very professional looking website and best is you design it yourself. So while I may sometime in the future recapture my passion for creating websites, I really hope that this will be a fantastic solution for you and your website design needs.

I’ve liked designing for a long time now but it’s come the time where I have to finally hang up my hat. I will be putting together one last site for a family member and then I’m done.  I no longer have the free time to spend designing graphics or any of that. Once upon a time this kind of stuff really motivated me and I was really passionate about it but lately I just can’t find that passion and it’s not fun for me anymore.  I feel like I’m just pulling things out of my butt and not really putting a level of effort into it like I should. So from here on out any design work that I do will be purely for myself and my enjoyment. I no longer reap any joy out of doing design work for other people and that’s when you know you have to stop doing things for pay.
